Anita Erickson

Founder/CEO

Anita is an entrepreneur with a passion for connecting people, and supporting friends, colleagues and customers in excelling at what they love. After a career in marketing with Fortune 500, privately-held and startup companies, Anita decided to strike out on her own.  Bridging a long-held passion for design with her digital marketing experience, she started Red Chair Market, an early peer-to-peer furniture marketplace.  Developing relationships with designers, architects and builders led her to recognize an opportunity to create an industry-specific co-working space; Red Chair Workroom.  After The Workroom was acquired, she pivoted the concept to The Marketplace, a collaborative design showroom, offering many of the benefits of co-working to product and service companies.

Anita is a passionate advocate for the design/build industry and plans to expand The Marketplace in to a comprehensive design district, supporting Austin on its path towards becoming a World Class Design Destination.
