How It Works

The Marketplace works with our Vendor Partners in a variety of ways to help them expand their presence and trade business in the hot Austin market.  We work with luxury trade brands who want to:

  • Create a dedicated presence to connect with and serve trade professionals

  • Expand in to a new market with a low-effort, low-risk model

  • Start or expand a new business with plenty of support

  • Find a convenient base of operations that can double as a showroom

A Dedicated Trade Presence

With four 30,000sf+ retail showrooms around Texas, TriSupply is one of the fastest-growing building supply showrooms in the state. In Austin, they found that it was difficult to attract the trade to their somewhat out-of-the-way showroom.  Knowing this was a key customer segment, they partnered with The Marketplace to create a luxury, trade-focused presence in our central location.  Their dedicated trade director attends all Marketplace events and collaborates with other Marketplace Partners on leads and projects around the city.  â€‹â€‹

The Marketplace has been by far our most efficient tactic to increase Trade sales for TriSupply.  Having a centrally located mini showroom helps us connect with designers, architects and luxury builders where they are gathering, creating the relationships that lead to visits at our main showroom.  The Marketplace team has done a great job collaborating with us to help us meet the right people and are great representatives for the TriSupply brand when we aren't on-site.

Expanding in a New Market

Bentwood Luxury Kitchens already had a few Austin customers, but knew having a physical presence would be critical in growing.  With an ultra-luxury product that needs to be experienced to be appreciated, Bentwood invested in a beautiful display that can tell the Bentwood story whether their team is on-site or a Marketplace team member is acting as its ambassador.  Their certified kitchen designer, Karmela, has the flexibility to visit job sites, knowing that if a designer drops by the showroom they'll be taken care of.

Riad Tile also has some business in Austin, but they were ready to really take advantage of the growth in the market.  Trade customers loved the product, but an opportunity to see samples in person always makes things easier.  Riad's display at The Marketplace has been very popular with designers and allows the brand to be more top-of-mind for projects compared to other tile lines that have to ship samples.  â€‹

Taking the Leap - With a Net

Joining The Marketplace was the first step for Katherine and David in taking Metaphoric from concept to reality.  Stepping in to a ready-made showroom that didn't require full-time staff made starting their European furniture brand much easier than it would have been with a standalone showroom.

The Marketplace has been the perfect way for us to kick-start our business in Austin. The flexible program allows us to have physical product for customers to touch and feel without having to be tied to a showroom full-time.

Consistent industry events hosted by The Marketplace expand our brand awareness in a way that would cost thousands more if we had a separate showroom and had to drive that traffic on our own.

A Convenient Base of Operations â€‹

As a home technology company, Homeva doesn't have a lot of products that need to be selected, but they do need a way to showcase implementation.  This growing team also needed a place to gather and meet with clients.  At The Marketplace, you'll see working examples of Homeva's products throughout the showroom, including Ketra lighting, Lutron shades, a Smart TV and lighted mirror.  The team gathers at the showroom for informal chats, and invites clients for meetings in the conference room for a more polished experience than a coffee shop.

New Native Gardens had been working out of a storage unit and garage until recently, when they realized it was time to take things to the next level.  The Marketplace is their base of operations, where they can connect as a team, pick up deliveries and bring clients to show them the latest product.
